This week I was watching “Captain America “ though I usually don’t watch superhero movies but somehow got hooked to this movie -
For those who have not seen this movie – Its about a Small (Physically small), simple guy who wants to be in Army to Serve the nation but is rejected in military duty because of various health and physical issues (the movie is set during the Time of World War) , its...only because of his dire desire to serve the nation he is taken .He then becomes part of some experiment and after the experiment he becomes physically strong - somehow I found his physical strength realistic :D Then the movie is about how he fights the war and saves people …
When I think about it , so true – it’s the Ordinary People with determination who change things around them -- Talking of change – I believe that every life has a purpose and the purpose is to bring change , though one of my good friend says that “don’t try to change the world” but I strongly believe – if you see injustice, if you see you can change things around you for better or you can make little difference around you , then you should do . Though I realize and see that everybody is so busy in their own world, we have become so selfish that we first think of “What is there for me in it” but sometimes we should think beyond “Me” …
I know I can change life of a kid by helping him/her go to school, I know I can help people change their life if they are made aware of the opportunities around, I know if I can take some time out for community activity even once a month I can bring some difference and so can all of us. Coincidentally Anil was talking about a University in UK which had raised £400 for some school in Kerala ! Made me think cant we help our people here .. .. Everytime when i went out of India I found of lot of Indians in those countries Student,Researcher, Doctors, Engineers,Nurses, Teachers, people at sales counter , Social workers ... made me feel good , though initially i was concerned about racism, but i also realised that we have become so strong that people feel threatened when we Indians are around ...
This week we celebrated 65 years of independence … we have achieved quite a few things in these 65 years and we could have achieved lot more things , that fact that India is a Big Nation with too many complex socio economic set ups; making things work is not a easy task – And with all the limitations and complexity whatever we have achieved as a Nation I am proud of it – And I do believe its "We the People who make the difference" - Hum mein hai hero :)
Hum mein hai hero
Dil dheere dhadke hai aaj
Hone ko hai aaghaaz
Safar pe Chalne ka badhne
Itna hai Hausla
Uthna faasla
Manzil pe mil hi jaana hai
Khwabon se aage jaana hai
Humi se toh ummedein hain
Humi se toh dilasa hai
Hami pe hai nigaahe bhi
Hami pe Bharosa hai
Hum mein hai hero
Hum Mein Hai Hero
