Blame it on the Media....

Recently Kerala CM blamed the Media for twisting facts and tarnishing the State’s Govt image by implicating that State Govt was trying to protect ‘Nisham’ accused in a murder case since he is close to many leaders in the ruling party. CM’s said that media did not see that CM had personally gone and met the victim in the hospital before he succumbed to injuries after 2 weeks, all the hospital expense was borne by the State govt, and when the victim died State govt gave 10 Lakh compensation and Govt. job to the victim’s wife. How can media say that Govt is trying to protect the accused ?!

 

Hardly 2 weeks back 12 passengers were killed and more than 60 injured, several critically, when nine bogies of the Bangalore-Ernakulam Inter City train derailed near. The reason for the accident and deaths was later confirmed to be ‘Very Old Bogies and non maintenance of the Bogies’ The compensation given to the victims family was 2 lakhs. This accident was definitely because of lack of accountability, maintenance and audit and inspection which should have been happening by the department of railways and govt is directly responsible and answerable to people. And look at the compensation and rehabilitation arrangement which the Govt made.

 In contrast Nisham’s case, he is a known trouble maker , millionaire who gets away with the crime he does because of the money power and influence he has; instead of penalizing him and making him pay all the hospital expenses and make him arrange for rehabilitation , govt is doing all that ? Why ? and is Govt not helping a criminal by not making him pay for the life of people he shattered by killing a Security guard under his Hummer for opening the gate a few seconds late ? Why is govt not ensuring that the accused pays for all the expenses, why govt has not been able to find out the source of Income of this criminal ? Why this govt has not been able to take a strong decision to ensure that justice is given and not just trying to please people by giving money and job ? Why should a common man like me believe that Govt has no hidden agenda and is not trying to protect a criminal like Nisham, when the same govt dose not do much about the victims of accident caused by negligence of another govt agency ? Mr CM nobody dos social service neither the so called democratically elected Govt by the people. If you cannot take strong and correct decision do not blame media and common man for blaming you … its time for you Mr CM  to do some introspection
