I have been seeing ads pretty frequently on ‘Giving up LPG
subsidy’ since past few days. The first ad which I saw on this – the PM himself
was telling how giving up LPG would help the poor have clean and safe cooking
fuel option. The first thought when I saw that ad was – is the PM or any of the
politician really qualified to ask the common middle class man of India to give
up one of the small benefit he/she gets , that too after waiting for atleast
30-45 days to get a cylinder, which one has to keep track off and keep
following up.
Wonder how many LPG connections each politician must be
having , how many of these connection will these people surrender ? Mr PM does not have a family/wife to worry
about so probably he does not feel the heat of
LPG and the its rates . For me somebody who wears a suit (with his name
imprinted throughout) worth 10 Lakhs for just couple of hours occasion has no moral right asking me give up
my Rs208.68/cylinder LPG subsidy. Someone who had to get the whole of AIIMS shutdown so that his
checkup could happen in tight security has no right to tell me and send me sms asking me to Give up LPG
Subsidy. They have no right to play with emotions of people (especially general
category people) who don’t get any sort of preferences/quotas/relaxation
anywhere.
