Hasee toh Phasee !

The last time I blogged about a Hindi movie was almost 3 years back - and that was ‘Kahaani’.

After Kahaani today I saw another movie ‘Hasee toh Faseen’ and i just cant stop raving about this movie. Here is this movie which has a Heroin who is the Hero and Hero who is the best hero in Supporting Actor role ! Parineeti Chopra and Siddharth Malhotra have given good performances and the good thing about this movie is the story/script. When i started watching this movie which is 2hrs 21 mins long i thought i would be skipping and hopping songs and scenes but not once i had to do that .

‘Meeta’ the unconventional tomboy heroin/hero of this movie is the best thing about this movie. No she is not glamorous(in contrary in 90% of the movie she is in one dirty jeans and a top with a front open jacket or check shirt), she does not wear short , sexy dresses, she does not do any dream dance/song sequence and not any item number (probably one song during the credits will fall into the item no. category but its not part of the movie) ,and one wedding song no. does not have any crying or any melodrama scene. She is 5^th daughter of a successful Gujarati Businessman, who has done Chemical Engineering from IIT, Phd from Germany and a scientist and innovator. She does not cry if her car breaks down in the middle of the road at the middle of the rainy night , but gets out opens the bonnet of the car and figures out what is wrong and helps herself. She does not mind living in sub standard She does not get emotional or uses emotional blackmail to get personal things done, she uses logic and practical approaches and sometimes extreme steps to solve her problems. She can fix electric/electronic/mechanical problems.. Has good knowledge of medicines, sports , music. Enjoys food and drinks ;) She has negative side also - she takes drugs, well anti depressant when she gets anxiety attacks, but she is well aware of what medicine she is taking and what are the side effects of those , and is ready to leave that addiction but then most of the eccentric people have some or other weakness :)

The Hero in supporting role was also absolutely lovable character , charming, intelligent, practical, loyal and fun loving. Siddharth has actually done a good job. Oh I missed one important character Manoj Joshi - Father of our Hero Meeta , though very short role, but he was good and did justis to his part of the role:) Movie has 3 lovely songs , Zehanaseeb, Manchala, Ishq Bulaava nd 2 good dance number Drama Queen and Shake it like Shammi. The script does have couple of weak points, like somebody who has business worth crores having 5 letter password for Online Bank transaction, or some business tycoon ready to invest on some silly idea , but then it is still much better than hero Bashing 20 Villains and coming unhurt Oh btw there is not a single “Dishum Didhum” scene - But i still dont understand why did they na,me this movie ‘Hasee Toh Phasee ” ? . Anyway I loved watching this movie , good timepass for 2.5 hours :)
