Woman's Day special

Another new day – am awake early , its dark outside am waiting for some reason to get up -- am waiting for alarm - Alarm goes on at 5 am .. ….. at 5 I pick up Ezekiel and go to kitchen – put him in his cloth cradle – look around , few dishes to wash, have to think of breakfast and lunch menu -- check fridge for veggies – and I realize another long day … have calls in the evening after 6:30 ..... .. for a change think of doing yoga – 25 mins … and then 5:45 my work begins .. cutting veggies, washing dish, making dough for parathas (breakfast) and Aalu curry -- beetroot thoran and “More Kachiyedu” for lunch , there goes rice in cooker – Lobia in another cooker -- 6:15 paper walla drops the paper – 6:30 Anil's alarm goes “Tee Tee Tee Tee” – 6:45 Milkwalla drops milk – “Anil please get the milk” – 7 o’clock Sanskrit news on radio – “Esther get up ! Otherwise no TV at 8:30 !” – 7:15 Esther comes down – “Ooo waaaa”

 --- Ezekiel gets up – “Come my sweetheart “ , I pick eze -- stir to the curry – there goes Milk to the tea - Esther’s vita milk – Tea , milk paper and Anil on Table – Esther take the charge of baby sitting – I rush back to kitchen – take off rice cooker – take the aata – starts making paratha – 8 :00 am cooking kind of done – Pick Ezekiel - - Massage time – 8:15 his bath is over -- I need to sit – my tea on table getting cold .. so I sit holding eze – pick up my cup , eat whatever I gets my hands on that I have kept on table , take up a newspaper – see all ladies pictures – TV Anchor, Dancer, Singer, sound engineer, theatre personality – all young and happening faces – realize its Women’s day ! English Radio News Over – last few headlines – Bombay Ravi no more (Chaudavi ka chand ho … Dil ke arman aasoon mein beh gaye ), international Women’s day -- its 8:30 ! – I tell Anil – “ Anilji can you please be around with baby – I will get ready in 15 mins ..” meanwhile I download my emails – nothing urgent to respond – but see couple of action items -- oh I have to wear something Green today – Dress code for Women’s day -- Pick up a Bright Green saree – quick Iron .. and 8:50 am ready -- I call Anil and Esther for Breakfast at 9:00 (btw its vacation time for Esther and am hoping my Baby Sitter will come by 9:30) and by 9:15 ChaI meri Flyte !

On my way to office I think of the newspaper article and I think – don’t we have Women worth mentioning in other fields like business, technology, science, sports, public or private sectors or entrepreneurs small/ medium/ big … and what about thousands of Women like me who celebrate everyday of Womanhood ! For me - Some days are great, some good ,some not so good and some Bad ! But every day is My Day – WoMan’s day !! :)
