Vishu --

It was Vacation Bible School week for Esther which got over on saturday - Vishu/Baisakhi day. Though I have never attended "Sunday school" or "VBS" i hear there is quite a lot of fun and learning. So Esther has been attending the vacation Bible school for last 3 years. their session begins around 9:30 - there is snacks break around 11 lunch break around 12:30 -1 and tea break around 4 after which disperse. around 120 children age from 3- 15 attended VBS in our church this year. The grand finale was today - Morning 7 am Holy mass - all children recevied holy communion , most of them were dressed in white, then they had "Love feast" - every child was asked to bring certain item in certain certain number(laddoo, chips, cake) - breakfast was Appam and Veg stew with the items children had brought -- so we parents also had our breakfast there --after breakfast all the children got ready for the OVBS (Orthodox Vacation Bible School) procession -- short procession from Spenser Junction to Statue -- all had OVBS flags in their hand and crown (paper crown) on their head ... and all of them shouting -- Jai jai OVBS :) when they came back after 15 - 20 mins we decided to have coffee at ICH and the children continued with the Bible class, we - 6 adults (Dr and Mrs Dr J , Mr and Mrs M and Mr and Mrs Anil +Ezekiel) we spent around 45 mins and left around 11:15 am .. reached home around 11:30 , i was feeling too tired and decided to first put Ezekiel to Sleep and then around 12 i guess even i slept off along with him ..

Got up at 1 and prepared lunch , had simple dal chawal sabzi lunch around 2 and Ezekiel got up around 2:30 - gave him lunch and spent time with him -- around 4:30 we decided to pick Esther-- 'M' had already picked Dr J's son Appu, Esther and his 2 kids Kanna and Chinnu from church after the VBS -- I suggested anil that we buy Ice cream for kids -- and reached M's home  .. saw children playing and running around making lot of noise -- when kids are around and making so much of hangama ,it's so much of happiness around-- they all were excited to see ice cream -- so double screams :) ..
End of Ice cream children wanted to play badminton -- so i joined them ... by 6:30 Dr J and Mrs came , we all were outside playing badminton .. i observed there was someone else also in the car -- their Elder son Unni -- I was seeing him for the first time as he usually does not go out of his home --in my earlier post i had mention about Unni being on Wheelchair(Mascular Dystrophy) ... Dr J whom I call 'Achachen' - lifted Unni  (13 yr old ) and made him sit on chair , we all greeted Unni and continued playing -- i observed him making comment on his younger bro's style of playing -- saying Appu  does not know to play badminton .. then Appu who had become comfortable playing with me , said to Dr J his dad -- "Papa play with Simmi aunty" and we started playing -- i guess he was playing after very long time --  Appu didn't want his dad to loose -- so we played for some time i made lot of noise and laughter just like all the kids and then after 10 mins play asked kids to play ..

Unni was lifted by achachen, I switched on the Yamaha Keyboard and put on some music - and Unni  started playing Piano , the other 4 kids Kannan, Chinnu,Appu and Esther) got into one room started playing carooms, Mrs M started cooking dinner and we all started talking and helping ... Ezekiel was roaming all around getting everybody's attention .. Mrs J then told why they are choosy about taking Unni outside -- too many question on his being on wheelchair ... and not many adults sensitive that kid feels miserable when asked about his inability to walk ...  also agreeing facing similar situation and people .. .Kanna has autism ... I saw Kanna  talking to Ezekiel and Ezekiel being very comfortable with him ....  -- and i hear Unni beautifully play "Hark the herald angels sing ...." one of the memorable Vishu day spent with all of them ....

....
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth ...
